Bald Eagle Bash

SOLD OUT!! SOLD OUT!! SOLD OUT!!

Are you ready for the Party for Preservation?” What better way to shake off the winter months and a very long year than watching the sunset over Weeks Bay while enjoying fresh local seafood and listening to awesome local music for a great cause? The 11th annual Bald Eagle Bash, set for May 22 from 4-7 p.m., at the Tonsmeire Weeks Bay Resource Center, is South Alabama Land Trust’s (SALT) largest event, raising funds to restore vulnerable coastline, protect wildlife and educate folks about how they can help ensure we have clean water.

This “taste of Weeks Bay” brings more than a dozen area restaurants together to create dishes based on delicious Gulf shrimp. From fried shrimp, to stuffed shrimp, to shrimp and grits, shrimp ceviche, and jalapeno shrimp sliders, each chef prepares a signature dish that is sure to delight all participants. Several restaurants will serve delectable desserts!

The MUSIC is always a big draw, and 2021 will be no exception. We are proud to announce that The Marlow Boys will be our 2021 Bald Eagle Bash musical entertainment!

The Marlow Boys, Joe and Karl Langley (of the Kyle & Karl Band) Stan Foster (Rollin’ in the Hay, Deluxe Trio) and Phil Proctor (Dog River Boys, Deluxe Trio) have been playing together since 2014. Collaborating on original songs, their music is both personal and universal, acoustic and electric, serious and, as one person said, “Good people, good music.”

Local brewer Fairhope Brewing will be serving their a signature beer, Bald Eagle Blue, again, and this year, for the first time, Braided River Brewing Company from Mobile will be joining us.

“The Bald Eagle Bash is a great family-friendly event that showcases local seafood and local musical talent in a setting that cannot be beat.” Ellis Allen, South Alabama Land Trust Board Chairman said. “Many attendees come by boat and families fish off the pier while everybody enjoys the food, the music and the sunset.”

Tickets will go on sale April 1 to SALT members, and April 5 to the general public. Due to COVID restrictions and the need to maintain social distance, tickets will be limited this year, and can only be purchased in advance, either online or at one of these locations: The Fairhope Store, The Orange Beach Store, Weeks Bay Reserve and South Alabama Land Trust. Tickets are $50 for SALT members, and $55 for nonmembers. Children 10 and under are free. Free parking is available at the South Alabama Land Trust office, with shuttles providing transportation to the event.
